So i went to see Mamma Mia! 2 and let’s be real, in the Waterloo scene, if a cute and nervous guy who wanted to sleep with me started a flash mob to convince me, while singing an ABBA song, I would totally agree with it
Anonymous asked: Do you think it's significant that this time there was a struggle for the lightsaber between Reylo in comparison to TFA where it went directly to Rey? Does this have anything to do with Kylo possibly shifting somewhat to the light side?
I’ve talked about this before a bit. I definitely think this was significant. Kylo Ren couldn’t even get that lightsaber to move when he reached for it in The Force Awakens. This was different. Something MUST have changed in Kylo Ren for the lightsaber to be torn in half like that. Rey seemed convinced she was seeing Ben Solo surfacing during their conversations.
When you watch how soft he was with her in the hut (soft voice, gentle eyes), he’s completely different from the man he was in that forest. Also, when facing Snoke’s guards you’ll notice Rey scream and fighting wild, almost like a Sith. Kylo is calmer during the fight, and only seems to get truly upset when he sees Rey get hurt.
The Force Bond is equalizing them. They’re sharing each other’s traits. Despite being of the light, Rey shares dark traits. Despite being of the dark, Kylo shares light traits. Thus, the yin and yang. Kylo completely resurfaces ONLY AFTER Rey abandons him, and escapes while he’s unconscious. When he finally calms down he sees Rey again through the Bond, and suddenly Ben Solo is back again…
The force is trying to keep them from fighting each other. I think the fact the saber broke in two seemingly perfect pieces is also a huge symbol for the force and balance and becoming equals.
The Force is definitely manipulating things in order to keep them from actually killing each other. It brings them together, but pulls them away when things get tense. It’s trying to create the balance, but Rey and Ben aren’t quite there yet.
Anonymous asked: Is the new fandom fighting going to be about whether kylo is a villain or not ? I’m already seeing the arguments start with even some reylo people saying he’s evil now.
I find it absolutely hilarious that Rian Johnson slaps us in the face with quotes like “no one is ever truly lost” and “we don’t win this war killing the people we hate, but by saving the people we love” and these reylos manage to get absolute NONE of it through their heads.
The movie ended with so much hope, and instead of paying attention to the details that matter, they’re stuck on what they’d wanted to happen. I could probably write a million metas and reference quotes from Rian himself, and they still wouldn’t understand shit if they keep allowing negativity to cloud their judgement.
How many fucking times did Rian say that it’s not so simple as good and evil? I mean, honestly! How absolutely blind do you have to be not to realize they would not create a fucking Force Bond between the hero and an irredeemable villain.
Irredeemable (evil) villains like Palpatine, Snoke, and Hux don’t get a fucking romance. They don’t connect with people. They use people. They manipulate. They betray. They don’t find love in stories like Star Wars. They don’t BOND with people that are so completely different from them.
But sure, okay… Kylo Ren is evil. Which is exactly why Rey is gonna fucking save Ben Solo. And let me just add (this movie converted my girlfriend AND a finnrey shipper I’m close friends with). If reylos wanna abandon ship, fuck em. People who were dead set against it are finally seeing the potential in Ben Solo and Rey’s story. I think that’s pretty amazing, and I have nothing but respect for the foundation Rian Johnson built in this movie. He made reylo canon, and I fucking love it!
I tried to make Adam Driver just happy, you know, because I think when he’s on set as Kylo Ren, the dark side of the force likes to just capture him sometimes and I feel like my hug just balances Adam out. It’s a medical thing that we have sorted out. I get paid to do it. - John Boyega
You’ve got to give it to luke and Ben tho. They’re truly Anakin’s own flesh and blood. Only two skywalkers could have had their family confrontation full of dramatics and emotion and ridiculousness on planet made of salt.
